How I exfoliate (lips, face, body)

Glowy skin doesn’t just happen overnight. I’m a biiig believer in exfoliating. Exfoliating removes dead skin (yes!) And allows your moisturizers, ointments and oils to penetrate deeper into the skin. You want to exfoliate at least 2-3 times a week for normal/combination skin and 1-2 times a week for sensitive skin. You never want to over exfoliate because it can cause irritation and inflammation to the skin. Less is more!! I’m going to share my faves at the moment (from head to toe!)

Scalp: Kevin Murphy Maxi.Wash Detox Shampoo. This is going to exfoliate the scalp and remove any dead skin, impurities, oil and products from the hair. Clean scalp = healthy hair!

Face: Dermaflash Anti-Aging exfoliating device. This tool not only removes peach fuzz on the face- it instantly gives the skin a radiant glow. Another bonus: makeup goes on like a dream. I use this once every two months.

Face: Eminence Strawberry Rhubarb Dermafoliant. This stuff is awesome for gently exfoliating the skin, it’s a rice powder that removes dead skin, the strawberry and rhubarb infuses the skin with antioxidants. I use this with a tiny bit of water to create a paste. You can also mix it into your favorite face wash as well. I use this 1-2 times a week.

Lips: Fenty Beauty lip scrub. This is an essential in my makeup bag. I use a lot of matte lipsticks that tend to leave my lips dry. I apply it on my lips using a bit of pressure, then wipe off using a tissue.

Body: Goop dry brush. It took me a while to actually make this a habit but once you get the hang of it, you’ll never forget to use it. Start at the feet and brush upward towards the heart. It improves the overall skin appearance, reduces cellulite and energizes the body. It feels SO good on the skin! It’s also a great tool to use to prep the skin before self tanning.

Body: Aesop Redemption body scrub. This is the best smelling scrub! The sage leaf is what sold me. It’s not too feminine or masculine. I use this on damp skin, using my hands to work the product into the skin.
